Atlantic.Net’s Revenue Rockets up 38 Percent in 1st Quarter
Orlando, Fla. (April 22, 2008) – Avoiding the national trend of a struggling economy, Atlantic.Net, a leading data center and managed services provider with headquarters in Maitland, Fla., has announced a 38 percent increase in core data center revenue during the first quarter of 2008.
The privately owned company, founded in 1994, first burst onto the national scene in 2000 when fast-paced growth landed it on Inc. magazine’s “Inc. 500” list of America’s fastest-growing private businesses, a distinction the company would go on to repeat multiple times.
While other dot-com era companies eventually became victims of unsound business principles, Atlantic.Net has continued to thrive and grow by staying one step ahead in the ever-changing technology game. Originally focused solely on providing Internet access, Atlantic.Net has broadened its offerings for businesses to simplify implementation of the latest technology.
“To continue to be a leader in the industry, we believe that you have to have a strong vision of the future and always be looking around the corner for the next big thing,” said Marty Puranik, company founder, president and CEO. “Our profitability has enabled us to invest in new product initiatives when our competitors can’t.”
Atlantic.Net moved its primary operations from Gainesville to Orlando in 2003, opening a 25,000-square-foot secure data center, and shifted its focus to the fast-growing business of dedicated servers, server colocation and managed services. A recent $250,000 data center power upgrade demonstrates Atlantic.Net’s constant commitment to deliver the technologically advanced infrastructure and scalability that is critical in today’s marketplace.
“Our sound business principles have allowed us to remain debt free and generate the capital to make continued investments in the company,” Puranik said. “We offer a colocation facility that is unequaled in terms of power, cooling and bandwidth anywhere in Central Florida and by only a handful of locations across the country. This is an important part of our long term business plan, and we are committed to continuing to grow this portion of our business.”
As it looks toward the future, Atlantic.Net continues to fulfill the technology needs of its business customers, offering digital business phone systems, data backup, security, Internet connectivity and business continuity. The company also continues to have an eye toward the future. “We are developing a series of new products that we think are really going to knock people’s socks off,” Puranik said.
