GAINESVILLE, Fla. (10/23/02)– Atlantic.Net (https://www.atlantic.net), Florida’s largest privately held Internet service provider, has been named one of America’s fastest-growing private companies by Inc magazine for the third year in a row. This year, Atlantic.Net ranks number 269 on the Inc 500, a roster of the country’s fastest-growing private companies based on sales growth from 1997 through 2001. Noteworthy Inc 500 alumni include Microsoft, Timberland and Domino’s Pizza.

During the past 20 years, fewer than 6 percent of the winners have been named to the list three times. Atlantic.Net is one of only 31 Florida-based companies to make the 2002 Inc 500 and is the state’s only Internet service provider to be honored.

The Inc 500 award is one of several recent growth announcements from Atlantic.Net. Last week, the company announced it had doubled its sales presence and added a sales manager in its Orlando office. In September, the company announced it had expanded its Southeastern network reach through an agreement with Progress Telecom, a Florida-based provider of wholesale broadband services and a subsidiary of Progress Energy.
