DSL uses ordinary phone lines and a special modem to provide high-speed, dedicate servers, ‘always on’ Internet connections. Business and residential customers who sign a one-year contract will receive free activation and a free modem until December 31, 2000. All DSL service options allow users to transmit large files faster and easier, while SDSL and IDSL service are essential for businesses that want to establish networks and share files. Because Atlantic.Net is partnering with a number of different providers to offer DSL service, businesses and residents that did not previously qualify for DSL service because of distance requirements may be able to qualify through Atlantic.Net.
