Atlantic.Net Takes Strategic Step in Pursuit of Central Florida Market
Orlando, Fla. (10/16/02) – Atlantic.Net (https://www.atlantic.net), Florida’s largest privately held Internet service provider, today announced the company has doubled the size of its Orlando sales force and has added a sales manager to lead its sales efforts in the region. The new additions to Atlantic.Net’s sales team bring more than 35 combined years of experience and industry knowledge to the company, as well as vast regional knowledge of the Central Florida market.
“This important step enhances Atlantic.Net’s ability to offer businesses in Orlando and surrounding areas a choice for their business-class Internet services,” said Cameron Clayton, director of sales and marketing for Atlantic.Net. “We are very pleased to add this talented group to our existing sales teams. It is a positive development for Orlando business customers citywide.”
The new sales team members include Sales Manager Elizabeth Hall and Business Account Executives James Bowman, Colleen Guay and Jim Weber. • Sales Manager Elizabeth Hall brings 13 years of experience to Atlantic.Net and her team. Previously, she served as sales manager for Volaris Online and held various executive positions at Covad Communications, BlueStar and AT&T. • Prior to joining Atlantic.Net, James Bowman worked as an account manager at Teligent and Covad. He is a graduate of Nyack College in New York and has lived in Orlando for 25 years. • Colleen Guay began her career with Orlando-based companies PageNet and Metrocall before moving on to ITC DeltaCom and Volaris. • Jim Weber has more than 10 years of sales and management experience. He holds a degree from Indiana University and served in the U.S. Air Force.
“We’re pleased to welcome Elizabeth and her team to the Atlantic.Net family,” Clayton said. “Their extensive experience in the region, knowledge of Internet technologies, plus their focus on customer support and service is a tremendous asset to our Orlando business clients and to our company.”
The new Orlando sales staff and the existing team will focus initially on welcoming former Volaris customers to Atlantic.Net, ensuring those customers and their services are supported during the transition period. “With industry-leading Internet, Web site and telecommunications services, plus our compelling high-speed dial-up services, Atlantic.Net is well-positioned to fill the void opened by last week’s announcement of Volaris’ sellout to Earthlink,” Clayton said.
Today’s announcement coincides with the launch of Atlantic.Net’s new advertising campaign that reminds Central Florida business customers they have “the power to choose” their provider of business-class services. This marks the sixth time during the past year that Atlantic.Net has stepped in to support customers in need, as companies such as Broadslate, WorldCom, Verio and BlueStar have announced the discontinuation of service in select areas due to factors including acquisition and bankruptcy.
This latest news follows a recent string of growth announcements from Atlantic.Net. Last month, the company announced an agreement with Progress Telecom, a Florida-based provider of leading-edge wholesale broadband services and a subsidiary of Progress Energy. Along with increasing Atlantic.Net’s network reach in the Southeast, the agreement enables the company to pass along customer benefits including cost savings, faster provisioning, greater scalability and priority customer support.
