GAINESVILLE (February 12, 1998) – Internet Connect Company (ICC), one of the fastest-growing Internet service providers in Florida, is announcing the acquisition of Citilink’s dial-up Internet customer base.

According to a notice sent from Citilink president Thabet Birro to his customers, the change will result in a number of positives for all concerned.

“We are pleased to announce our teaming up with one of Florida’s largest Internet Providers, Internet Connect Company, in an effort to provide [Citilink customers] with the maximum of benefits and friendly customer support,” Birro said.

Citilink, of Melbourne, will remain in the Internet business, focusing its efforts on the growing dedicated access market.

“We’re happy that Citilink has entrusted their subscribers to us,” says ICC sales executive James Lamb, “We’re looking forward to serving them.”

All Citilink customers have already been switched to the Internet Connect Co. network. Subscribers were notified of the change in an e-mail message and a notice was included with their monthly invoices.

New subscribers will receive access to ICC’s standard account features, as well as seven-day-a-week technical assistance and toll-free support. ICC’s Atlantic.NetSM service starts at $9.95 per month and includes access to the World Wide Web, electronic mail, newsgroups, and chat rooms. The service is compatible with the Windows 3.1, Windows 95, and Macintosh operating systems.
