GAINESVILLE, Fla. (November 11, 1997) – Internet Connect Company (ICC), one of the fastest-growing Internet service providers in Florida, is announcing the purchase of Worldwide Internet Services of Melbourne. This is the company’s third acquisition this year, involving more than 400 net new subscribers to ICC’s service. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

ICC has made plans to make the transition process for current Worldwide Internet customers as simple as possible. All Worldwide Internet customers are being contacted via e-mail with instructions on how to access ICC’s Atlantic.Net service, and users may call the ICC customer support department directly at (800)921-9328 with any questions. All activation fees will be waived for Worldwide Internet subscribers and software will be provided to those who would like it. All new customers should be switched over by mid-November.

New subscribers will receive access to ICC’s standard account features, as well as seven-day-a-week technical assistance and toll-free support. ICC’s Atlantic.Net service is $19.95 per month and includes unlimited access to the World Wide Web, electronic mail, newsgroups, and chat rooms. All accounts also receive space for a commercial or personal Internet home page at no extra cost. The service is compatible with the Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Macintosh, and UNIX operating systems.
